Fish River Mall Page One

Such a grand place. Taken from bits of dreams I have had and put together, but only to exist in my head. Some day I will break out my sketchbook and draw some of it.
Built in the middle of nowhere, literally, and by a lake.
It is a giant circle.
I put condominiums in one part that would house employees, their families, and students, and hotel rooms in another part which would be for resort visitors. Each has it's own enclosed courtyard. In the third part there is a school and working spaces and in the fourth part are stores, services and restaurants. In the center of all that is an open air courtyard, with a retractable roof, that is mostly filled with a garden.
The students are of all ages and learn a variety of different skills that contribute to the operations of the resort and spa.
One of the most interesting parts of it is the artificial river that runs through the whole place, both indoors and out, stocked with native fish and part of a closed loop aquaponics system, filtered by plants grown for food to feed everyone.
The river is shallow in some areas and as deep as five feet in places. There are several bridges that cross over narrow sections. Nice spots to watch for fish.

There is also a medical and wellness center. This is where the fitness area is and there is a dietitian and trainers on staff. Next to that is the spa. I designed the spa to include reflexology, deep tissue massage, a sauna, and a hot tub with a waterfall, and a salon.

That is where I was when the war broke out. We all knew it was just a matter of time. That is why we built the place like a fortress.

We were a group of like minded individuals that saw our society going in a direction we were uncomfortable with so we joined forces and started to build a community. Some called us isolationists and in a way we were. We bought a small lake and built cabins along the shore. We lived in those while we built the resort. When the resort was ready most of us moved in there and the vacant cabins became rentals for resort guests.
The resort was put on the north side of the lake on a hill with an incredible view of the lake. The only parts of the cabins that you could see from there were the chimneys as all the cabins were partially subterranean and southern facing. We had planted many fruit trees around the cabins; apples, pears, plums, cherries, some nut trees, and sugar maples.

We put in gardens around the resort with many edibles as well as flowers. The gardens lined a path all the way down to the lake.
